Professor Samantha Hettiarachchi, Fellow of the Academy, Professor of Civil Engineering and expert in coastal engineering and disaster risk reduction, passed away earlier this year. A memorial lecture in his honour will take place on Thursday 29 November 2018 from 5 pm to 8 pm (including reception) at the main auditorium of the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, Colombo 7. The Lecture will be delivered by Professor Edi Kissling, Professor of Geophysics at ETH Zurich on a topic to be announced in due course.
